Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) is a procedure which combines endoscopy and ultrasound to obtain images of the internal organs. Double Balloon Enteroscopy is an enteroscopic technique for visualization of small intestine. It is the first enteroscopic technique that allows for the entire GI tracts to be visualized in real time. The technique involves the use of a balloon at the end of enteroscope and an over tube which is also fitted with balloon. Inflating and deflating the two balloons, the scope is advanced into the GI tract using a push and pull method to visualize the entire small bowel. Small bowel lesions can be identified and conditions like bleeding and polyps can be treated in the same sitting.

Primary use of Capsule Endoscopy is to examine areas of small intestine that cannot be seen by routine upper and lower GI Endoscopy. At the end of the procedure, approximately 24 hours later, the photographs are downloaded from the receiver that is worn on the waist of the patient into a computer, and the images are reviewed by a physician.
